How To Unlock Your Huawei And ZTE Internet Modem

Dear reader, there're times when we want to unlock our internet modem so it can be universal i.e it can be used for various network type instead of just one i.e the original network type it came with. But we don't know how to. However, there is a way. So read on to find out....

Online Method

This method requires you to generate the unlock code using a free online tool. Follow the steps below to get the code:

Check through the list of supported modem models
If you find your type of model, enter your modem IMEI number into the provided box and enter the captcha code
Click Calculator.

And within seconds, your unlock code will be calculated and generated for you.

Offline Methods

Install the software and launch it
Plug-in the ZTE Internet modem you want to unlock
From the list of Manufacturers, select the make of your modem and the model, or make use of the Auto-select
Tick ‘Read Unlock Code & Auto enter to Modem’
Click ‘Do Job’.

The Universal Master Code Software

Universal MasterCode is also a free software tool which is used to unlock huawei modems.

Enter your modem IMEI number (the IMEI number can be found at the back of your modem)
Click Calculate and your code will get generated.

Note: The Universal MasterCode software can also be use to generate unlock and master codes for ZTE modems, NEC, LGkg110, VK and Nokia phones.

Also Note: While generating your unlock code, you will also be given a Flash Code. This is useful in case you enter incorrectly the Unlock Code 10 times. Then use the Flash Code to unlock it. Your Flash Code is just like the ‘PUK Code’ of your SIM Card.

After downloading plug-in your internet modem and open huawei unlocker you downloaded in step 1. Ensure your SIM is not in the modem.

Go to connection and click on connect
Input IMEI number of the internet modem and calculate code.
The unlock and flash code will appear on the left of your screen.
Open your USB internet modem (either MTN,GLO,AIRTEL,ETISALAT etc) icon on your desktop.
Put in an un-authorized network sim card (different network type sim card), click on Tools>Pin Operations>Unlock Pin. Then input the unlock code generated. However, when you open the modem dashboard, a pop-up window will appear, requesting you to enter your unlock code

Next is to input the Sim's Network internet settings...

To input settings to enable you use any Network SIM in the internet modem, do the following...

Click on Tools>Options>Profile Management
Click on New and insert the browsing settings as it applies to the networt you are using
